OurHistory

Since its establishment in 2017, The Local at Lake Walk has connected artisans, crafters, makers, and small businesses with members of the Bryan/College Station community.

Originally held only in the fall and spring, The Local features artisan vendors and food trucks from across the Brazos Valley and the State of Texas. The main requirement? Vendors must make and produce their goods by hand. The Local provides an outlet for entrepreneurial artists to showcase their wares and dedication to their craft.

Now, in addition to handmade goods like unique jewelry and custom woodworking, The Local at Lake Walk also features local musicians looking to share their art with our community. Our team curates giveaways and themed activities designed to provide an all-inclusive experience for everyone.

From 10 vendors in the Summer of 2017 to over 50 vendors for our Holiday Night Bazaar in December of 2023, the growth of The Local has been one of the most inspiring elements since the inception of the event. The Local is organized, operated, and marketed by a small, local events team at Lake Walk. We are passionately dedicated to creating experiences unique for our shoppers; while also, fostering relationships for local talent to develop and grow.
