Integrated Business Experience

Fostering Entrepreneurship & Continued Learning

About IBE

The Local isn't just for celebrating small businesses and local artisans, it is also home to entrepreneurship, continued learning, and philanthropy.

The Local has partnered with the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship and Mays Business School's MS Business program once again to welcome IBE student businesses back to the Pavilion this fall! As part of the MS Business program, all students participate in the Integrated Business Experience (IBE). Throughout this semester long course, students are tasked with creating and operating a business to "learn business by doing business." At the end of the semester, having gained a wealth of knowledge and experience, IBE student businesses will close out their respective companies and donate the profits made to local non-profits.

This fall at The Local, you will find many IBE student-led businesses created for this program and selling a variety of products. From glassware to stickers and embroidered hats, purchases from IBE companies at The Local will support student entrepreneurship and give back to local non-profits all while providing you with unique products you can't find anywhere else.
