It's hard to believe, but this week's Local is our eighth market of the Spring 2022 season! Where has the time gone?! As a reminder, after Tuesday, there will be four more Tuesdays to shop The Local this spring.

Q & A with owner, Lexie Smith
How long has your business been in operation?
A little over a year and a half. I started out on Etsy in July 2020 and started doing in person markets in July of 2021.
How did you get started?
I adopted my first dog, Percy, from Aggieland Humane Society in late 2019 and he quickly became the center of my whole world. I found that I really love dressing him up in bandanas, and one day I wondered if I'd enjoy making them myself. A couple of days later, I bought a sewing machine and used youtube videos to teach myself how to sew. And that's when Percy's Corner was born! I still have a photo of Percy in the first bandana I ever made and it's probably my favorite picture of all time.
What products can customers expect from you?
We sell handmade dog bandanas, poop bag holders, and scrunchies! We'll still have a lot of our bestsellers from last season, plus I am planning to add new prints at least once a month this year. We already have a good amount of new bandanas for spring--lots of new florals and bright colors, and we'll be adding more year-round and summer bandanas later in the season!
What is your favorite product you offer?
Dog bandanas, of course! My favorite print is either the outer space or the dinosaurs, it's too hard to choose!
What is one thing customers might not know about you/your business that you'd like them
to know?
We have some additional products in our online store that we don't sell at markets, so be sure to check out our website as well! My favorite is our custom pet tees and crewnecks! Because who doesn't want their dog or cat's face on a shirt?!
Why do you think people should visit The Local?
I love The Local! Even before I became a vendor, I went to the local most weeks with Percy. It has such a great atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, and the location is beautiful! It's the perfect place to take a break from a busy week, enjoy the fresh air, and destress.
