As we return for our Fall 2022 season, I thought it might be nice to re-introduce ourselves as there's a lot of new faces both around town and on our team. Hi, I'm Tristan and I am the new Market Intern for this upcoming season. I am a senior at Texas A&M finishing a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition with minors in Psychology and Biomedical Sciences from Flower Mound, TX. Some of you may recognize me as a barista part of the POV team and operated the bar at the Lake Walk events this past summer. A lot of you got to know and love Kenya this past year, so I plan to build upon all of the amazing work she did while bringing in some new ideas.

Now for everyone who is hearing about The Local for the first time: Hello, we're so happy to have you here! If you are a student hearing about us for the first time or a new Bryan/College Station resident brought here by one of the expanding companies here, we hope you get plugged in to the amazing community rich in history, culture, and diversity found here.
What is The Local?
The Local is an artisan vendor market featuring artisans, crafters, makers, and small businesses in the Bryan/College Station community. Since our establishments in 2017, we have grown to feature over 50 vendors and food trucks at our markets. The Local is always free to attend, pet friendly, and held seasonally from 4-7pm on Tuesdays.
The Local is organized, operated, and marketed by a small, local events team housed inside the Design Spark Innovation Center. We are passionate and dedicated to creating experiences unique for our shoppers while also fostering relationships for our vendors to succeed and see their small businesses grow.
What is the difference between an Artisan Market and Farmers Market?
You will often hear us refer to our vendors as artisans and may be wondering why? It's because everything available at our markets is handmade. Our vendors dedicate a lot of time and energy to creating items that tell their story. Everything from the smallest cookie to the largest charcuterie board has a story to tell, and our vendors are the best storytellers in town! The best part about shopping local is that you can talk and learn about products from the people who love to make them.
Our markets will return September 13th at their usual time of 4:00pm to 7:00pm and will be held every Tuesday after at the same time. We have a lot of returning vendors; as well as, some new ones so be sure to check back every week for the early access lineup feature.

Share this blog with the neighbor that just moved in, the Aggie that just started classes, and the owner of the cutest dog you see this week.
If you aren't already subscribed to our newsletter for early access updates on all things The Local, you can sign up at the bottom of this website. You can also find updates and vendor features on our Instagram @thelocalbcs.
Let's have have an amazing fall, y'all!
